Despite the predition that the world was coming to a end on Saturday, we headed for Las Vegas on Friday, May 21. Jennifer and Jessica wanted to attend GLEE live on Saturday night. Vegas is just as bad as you have heard. We just focused on the goal of seeing the show and other sights of the city. We had a great time. But next time we would probably stay in a no casino, no smoke atmosphere.

The ducks are not in focus because I was trying to get the water to blur, but I thought it was ok for a water motion shot.

This is the previous shot with a liquify filter applied.
I really like the effect. I will probably use it on future images.

This picture was almost like taking a light shot while trying to blur the light.
I focused on the water and moved the camera a little to get the blur.

Jamie was perfect for a portrait shot. She is beautiful and has a gorgeous complexion. I did a little smoothing on her lips and brightened the photo a little. Then I replaced the original yellow with a color picked from her lips. I thought it made a good combo. Then I tried the color delete in the shot where the wall is gray. I liked how they turned out.

I added some saturation and brightness to the photo. The original was a little flat.

This is my finished high dynamic range photo. It was hard for me to complete because I tried to hand hold the camera and even though my photos were very similar, there was just enough difference in them that I could not line them up properly. The final photo is a 2 photo composure. To me these HDR photos look animated. I like them.

Landscape Bracketing Study

I took these photos in Rexburg at 7:30 on May 5. The top image has the least exposure.
The middle one is the darker and the bottom image had the longest exposure. I used the Auto bracketing on my camera. The values it chose were -.50 and +.50. I hand held these photos and even though it looks like they are the same, they are all different.

Study in Color

The color red comes in many shades and is a color that evokes emotion. The barn was taken in a landscape mode to allow a large depth of field. I adjusted a little to take away some of the flatness. The Basket and roses were taken in macro flower mode. I edited very slightly to bring out color. The motocycle was just a quick shot in auto mode with no editing changes.
